Hearts of Iron 3 - nice organisation system, but otherwise duller and darker than previous version, and the extra smaller provinces add too much micromanagementħ.Below you will find the Europa Universalis IV Demo Description, to get a taste of global domination Europa Universalis: Rome - lovely 3d rotatable map, interesting role play concepts, but not fully coherent political and population mechanics, playing as Rome is always cool, nice graphics, precursor of CK2 in many waysĦ. Hearts of Iron 2 - immersive battles and scenarios, some great graphics mods, ping ponging battles quite noticable, grpahically quite dated but still looks better than HOI3ĥ. Europa Universalis 4 - lovely modern GUI map and sprites, some nice events and missions, monarchy points add interesting gameplay, new colony mechanics are interesting, all gets slightly repetitive after a while, not much to do outside war, battle retreat system frustratingĤ. Crusader Kings 2 - superb role playing and subterfuge gameplay, nice sprites and map, gameplay gets slightly repetitive after a while, but massive choice of countries so good replayability, and some nice DLCģ. Victoria 2 - most fullfilling gameplay overall especially outside of warfare, most complex to learn, graphically a little bit dated, crisis system very good, only game to feature decent political and production mechanicsĢ. Here is my list and quick summary of why I have put the games where they are:ġ. I am interested to see what everyone feels about the current Paradox grand strategy games.
